Local man wins regional round of Lollypop person of the year
Dan Tennant is the cheery face that greets children and parents crossing the Boghead road/Gallowhill Road outside Holy Family Primary. On Friday 23rd his tens years helping children at Holy Family was rewarded by those same children when he went to a presentation at the Scotland Street School hosted by TV personality Lauraine Kelly.
Dan (whose favourite colour not yellow but blue) is a retired electrical engineer from M & C. He really enjoys the job: "the best thing is the kids and all the fun they give me," said Dan. But at 66 the job also has its down sides: "the weather .. the rain, wind and snow!"
Dan now faces a national contest and I'm sure we all wish him all the best.
