Why aren't crossing lights working asks mother of two ?

Lindsaybeg Road crossing lights Speed bumps

On Friday 18th May two ambulance had to attend what was thought to have been an incident where a young child was knocked down on Lindsaybeg Road around 3-4pm. The incident was shocking enough but worse is the fact that the pedestrian lights have been sitting idle with covers over them for weeks. "Why aren't the lights working?" asked one concerned mother of two with children at Millersneuk Primary.

Lindsaybeg Road, being the main road in from the A80 & M73 is a notorious traffic hotspot and has already needed speed reduction measures such as the infamous speed bumps. With pupils and parents having to cross the road at peak traffic hours, these lights are desparately needed and should be a priority.

We are happy to report these lights are now working, but we still can't explain the delay.
