Lenzie based band Just Tourist have not only featured heavily in local press recently when they were mentioned in four articles in one issue, but they have also attracted national interest with their songs getting favourable reviews in the Daily Record and having their music played on several internet based radio stations.
The four piece band met as friends some years ago at Lenzie Academy, where they are current sixth year pupils, and played their first ever gig under the name “Yours Sincerely” at Lenzie Halls. Regular visitors to this website will have seen and heard them already under the Follow The Bands section. After a couple of name changes the band settled for “Just Tourist” and since August 2008 they have graduated from Lenzie Halls to playing Glasgow venues such as Barfly, Ivory Blacks, Rockers, Stereo and Pivo Pivo. Highlight performances for the guys so far have been sell out dates at Barrowlands2 and ABC2 where they were recently headline act. They also performed at George Square in January as part of the Winterfest celebrations. All of their gigs have been extremely well supported by a loyal and growing fanbase who always help to make a special atmosphere whatever the venue.

Just Tourist; who are Scott Wohlgemuth (lead vocals and guitar); Joe Djaelani (lead guitar and backing vocals); Gerald Chau (bass guitar) and Robbie Houston (drums), write all of their own material and are working hard to attract the attention of music industry professionals in the hope of securing a recording contract. Having already supported American bad boy rockers, The Black Lips, and shortly to support NME favourites, Crystal Antlers, another American touring band, along with securing a slot at The Wickerman Festival’s Solus Tent, it will surely only be a matter of time before the A&R guys come calling.
