The Gala kicked off at 12.30AM with a parade down Kirkintilloch road going from the Royal Bank at Lenzie Station.

Crowing the Gala Queen Classic Car

The Gala Queen was chosen from one of the Primary Sevens from one of the local primary schools together with and three attendants: Megan from Holy Family, Joanne from Lenzie Primary and Rachel from Millersneuk Primary and the page Boy Jonathan from Lenzie Moss. 2007's Gala Queen was Emma Sutherland from Lenzie Moss P7 she was paraded in style in a classic car to the Gala.

The Gala Queen was driven in a superb classic crown to the Gala where she was duly crowned.

Rosebank Dancing School

Yet another superb day was had by all and we from Lenzie.org.uk would like to thank all those whose sterling work has made this Gala possible this year and in all the previous years ...

Thank you!

... to the Community Council, for organising the event, Lynn Smith the Compere, the Scouts and Explorers for all their work on the day, Lenzie Rugby Club for the use of the field. All those who provided the stalls: the Scouts, Churches, the various clubs, etc. not forgetting those who have the unenviable task of clearing up afterwards and all those who came ... anyone we've forgotten to mention and even this year the weather which although threatening rain stayed dry.

But not least we should thank the superb entertainment from Lenzie Pipe Band, Stewart School of Dance and Rosebank Dancing School whose fantastic display of dancing was a joy to watch.

Can I have another go?

All the children seemed to have had a superb time. From face painting by the churches to hurtling down the bouncy slide Hurtling down the bouncy slide. to hurtling round on the merry-go-round, they enjoyed it all. The Scouts yet again did a superb job feeding the hungry hoards the mobile adventure course was yet again a success, the younger children enjoyed their trips on the steam train and the older Kids (parents) enjoyed the spectacle.

Tug-of-war

We all enjoyed watching the four local Primary Schools battling in a tug-of-war competition ... which after several close called matches was won by Lenzie Moss - yet again!

(it must be the school dinners they feed them at Lenzie Moss!)
